Frequently Asked Questions

Q

What makes the Valour brand and its timepieces unique?

A

There are many brands of watches on the market today, each with their own selling points. A wrist watch is a very personal piece of jewellery for both men and women and for men in particular this may be the only piece of jewellery they have. To own a Valour timepiece is to truly own an entirely unique wrist watch design that references iconic historical aviation in a real and non-abstract way. Valour blends together a slightly non-conventional approach to watch design while keeping the precision and quality of Swiss time keeping at its core. When you wear a Valour timepiece it will definitely be a conversation starter.

Q

Do you currently have only one model available?

A

Yes. Valour Watch Company only produces limited edition small batch production timepieces. The Sopwith Aviator® is the first and only model currently available, however Valour has many new and unique limited edition designs in development with the next watch in our collection due to be available for order towards the end of 2015.

Q

Do you have a retail store where I can see and try the watches on in person?

A

No. Currently Valour Watch Company does not have a retail store open to the public. We are a UK based company primarily selling worldwide through our e-commerce platform. If you are thinking of purchasing more than one timepiece and wish to explore the possibilities in relation to a private viewing prior to December 2014 then please call Valour on (+44 ) (0)2036370079 or freephone 0800 133 7216. You can also email us at enquiries@valourwatchcompany.com and we will be happy to discuss this further with you.

Please note.
From the beginning of December onwards, Valour will be able to provide private viewings in the London area to any potential customers that make a request.

Q

What is the ‘Valour Flightline’ ?

A

The Valour Flightline is the valuable membership that comes with purchasing one of our time pieces. As a small boutique watch company we truly value our customers and wish to reward their choice to purchase. The Flightline membership is given to each customer after their first purchase and provides the following member benefits.

  • Early viewing and priority purchase for a lifetime on any new Valour timepiece before it is released and available to the general
  • public.
  • In the event that a Flightline member does not wish to purchase a newly introduced model after the early viewing notification then
  • they can gift the priority purchase on that particular model to anyone of their choosing.
  • Special discounts on future timepieces when applicable
  • All Valour Flightline members go into an annual draw to win vintage aeronautical related prizes.
Q

When I order, how long will it be before my timepiece is despatched?

A

Valour Watch Company only produces limited edition timepieces made in small batches. The Sopwith Aviator® model is produced in a single batch of 200 pieces with delivery from our Swiss manufacturer expected in early December 2014.

When you are in the ordering process and after registering you will be asked to select your preferred limited edition number between 1 and 200 from the drop down menu. If the number is still available you will be given a clear indication of this. All orders from this point forward will be dispatched within 2-3 days of the order being placed.

The shipment and overall delivery time will depend on your location in the world. Please refer to the How much does it cost for shipping my timepiece? question for the delivery costs and estimated delivery times.

Q

How can I pay?

A

You can either pay by credit or debit card through the Valour ecommerce website, by placing an order over the phone or by contacting Valour Watch Company on (+44) (0)2036370079 or Freephone 0800 133 7216 to request details for a direct remittance bank transfer.

Q

How much does it cost for shipping my timepiece.

A

We try to keep this to a minimum for our customers. The table below gives an indication of the additional delivery cost associated with the purchase of a Valour timepiece and the expected time for delivery. After the full shipping price has been calculated and indicated to you at the checkout, Valour applies a 50% discount to the shipping and this will be the additional cost added to your purchase

(For full transparency, we show you the cost of the shipping before the discount is applied. The full cost of the shipping to your country includes insurance and is required to calculate the correct customs and duties cost to be applied to your order).

Q

If I am an international customer and ordering from outside the European Union do I have to pay for the customs duty and other taxes in my own country when receiving the goods?

A

In general, no, but there maybe a few exceptions depending on the country. Working with our chosen international courier DHL we endeavour to get the order delivered without the need for you to deal in anyway with the customs aspect of receiving an international parcel. The exact shipping cost applied to your order will be dependent on your location in the world. The Valour website with its imbedded shipping and duty calculator will provide you with the actual costs that we will need to pay on your behalf for customs and duties.

We are always happy to provide you with more information in regards to the costs and particular requirements for delivering to your country so please call or email us if you have a question.

Q

What if I have a problem with my watch and where can I take it for servicing?

A

Your Valour watch comes with a 2 year warranty (please refer to section 7. Warranties, of the Terms and Conditions). While we expect that you will not have a problem with your timepiece, in the event that you experience an issue within the warranty period, the first step is to contact Valour and advise us of the problem.

If the issue can be rectified by a qualified watch technician in your local area then Valour will assist in directing you to the nearest service centre and under the warranty pay for an inspection and any servicing that is required.

If it is determined that the issue with your timepiece requires returning it to Valour in the UK, then the procedure to do this will be made clear to you and we will arrange for the pickup and return of the timepiece once the required work has been completed.

Please note: If we determine on inspection that the problem with your watch has been caused by improper use then we will contact you to discuss this. Indications of improper use may be seen through clear evidence of excessive impact forces to the case components, removal of the case back and obvious interference with the watch movement.
